Last years Shot Show, I won a soon to be released Remington 700 PCR. Got it chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. Got it last fall, tossed a scope that I had laying around and went out to a very nice desert range and rang steel at 1000 yards for the first time ever. Now, I'm bit. Definitely want to upgrade the scope and work with different ammo to see how far I can hit the steel. There's a couple of places nearby that offer up to a mile and a half. If I can hit that, it's testimony to the rifle's performance because I suck! LOL!
I am still hankering to get into long range shooting. I have no place to go locally where I can stretch a rifle like that out though.
The 6.5 Creedmore seems to be the hot round now, and I see a lot of bolt guns and large framed AR's that are built for this round.
I have a buddy that competes in West Texas and shoots a 6mm Creedmore, but it's a 100% hand load only and is a bit of a barrel burner.
Oh, you think Honkness is your ally. But you merely adopted the honk; I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING! The honkings betray you, because they belong to me!
6.5 Creedmoor is definitely the hot round right now. I've been hearing of others that have started to make the rounds, but I think the 6.5 is here for a good while. Barrel life varies as I've heard but I don't have any real world data to support or dispute it.
halnorth: All the best to your family as well. I know they are all behind you with love and support.

hax: Their level of care is incredible. My nephrologist that I follow up with, calls me at home to check on me between appointments. She communicates directly with my local nephrologist so they are on the same page.
